SKYLINE! What a week! It was an amazing start to the season with our first duel meet, and who could forget that the traditional storms rolled in as we planned to swim at Adamstown! This week's scoop IS a bit long, so get comfy, get your calendar, and get ready to set your reminders!
LOOKING BACK TO YESTERDAY:
- A few swimmers attended the Conestoga Valley Invitational yesterday.
- 1st place winners: 12 swimmers!
- 2nd place winners: 16 swimmers!
- 3rd place winners: 17 swimmers
Congratulations to everyone who participated! I know that there were also a lot of best times, too! I've attached the results.

(NEW) MEET ETIQUETTE--Please read carefully!
- Remain on Skyline side unless using bathroom or visiting concessions briefly
- Conserve energy and stay warm – no running around (Please leave the playground for another time! NO swimmers should be playing on the playground during the meet! It makes it EXTREMELY difficult to find swimmers for staging and can delay the meet or the swimmer may miss their event! )
- Report to staging area when called
- Ask timer for times and report to coach immediately following race
- Act appropriately (older swimmers be mindful of younger swimmers)
- Be respectful of the facilities, workers, lifeguards, parent volunteers, coaches, and officials
- Keep track of your belongings
- Support fellow swimmers – cheer them on!
- Be quiet at the start of every race when referee blows the whistle
- Remain until end of swim meet and cheer on teammates if possible
- NO ONE MAY APPROACH THE SCORING TABLE AT ANY TIME – ONLY COACHES!
- BE RESPONSIBLE! BE READY TO REPORT TO STAGING AREA IN PLENTY OF TIME FOR YOUR EVENT. DON’T MAKE PARENT VOLUNTEERS OR COACHES SEARCH FOR YOU!
- Please set up your swim "camp" closer to the staging area so it makes it easier to find swimmers for their events!
LOOKING AHEAD
(NEW) Landisville Away Meet, Tuesday, June 24th
- Theme: Crazy hair/hat (please no hair color!)
- Arrival Time: TBD (I will send out another email with more details)
- Needs:
- Lane 3 Timer 2nd half
- 2nd half Staging
- Finish Judges for BOTH halves
- 1 Stroke/Turn for 1st half and 2 for the 2nd half
(REMINDER) PICTURE DAY INFORMATION
You will find 1 form for each swimmer. The photographer requires 1 form for each photo he takes. So, if you have 3 children - you will need 3 forms. You can just write one check though for the total (just write the check number on all 3 forms.) He also accepts credit cards. If you would like a photo of all your children together, you will need to complete another form. If you know that you will not be having your child's photo taken, please put the blank order form in the first folder in front of the coach's folder in the top drawer. If you need another form, you can take one from this folder too. Paul will also have extra forms available that day as well.
Individual photos take place during morning practices. Please arrive prior to your swim time practice (about 15 min or so) to get your pictures taken and not miss practice and bring your completed form.
Team Photos will also be on Thursday, June 26th beginning at 4 PM prior to our home swim meet. Please arrive by 4 PM. We will start with the 8 and under and then continue with the remaining age groups.
Photo make up day will be July 3rd. Time will be determined soon!

I will let you know when the make up meet is available in Swimtopia for everyone to update their availability with swimming as well as volunteering!

(NEW) Guppy Gulch--Sunday, July 6th
Registration for Guppy Gulch is now open. Registration/payment can be a little complicated so please follow the steps on the attachment and also listed below if you are planning to attend.
The cost is $27 for participants or $10 for observers (someone who doesn't go in the water) if paying by check or $28/$12 if paying via Venmo (see directions below). You must register by this Friday, June 27 but payment is due by next Thursday, July 3rd. If you aren't registered by Friday, June 27 you will be unable to attend since we need to give the count to Guppy Gulch on that date-- so don't delay!

How do I sign up?
- You must complete the online waivers for each participant BEFORE registering on Swimtopia. (see above)
- In Swimtopia, go to Meets and Events and scroll to Guppy Gulch and click the RSVP button. YOU ONLY NEED TO DO THIS IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ATTEND.
- RSVP for only those listed in your family who are attending.
- Please remember that this year it is only open to Skyline families and no outside guests. Sorry - it's for insurance purposes. If a family member is attending that isn't on Swimtopia, please list their name in the comments so they can be counted as an additional guest.
- In the comments section – please list your # of participants/observers, total amount/payment method/acknowledgement of waiver completion.
- EXAMPLE: 3 participants - $81 check/all 3 waivers completed or 2 participants/1 observer -$64 via Venmo/all 3 waivers completed
- You can find the Venmo account for our team under Businesses - @skylinesharks. If you choose this payment method, please write Guppy Gulch and Swimmer’s Name
- If writing a check, please make it out to Skyline Swim Team and place it in an envelope labeled Guppy Gulch in the Damm mailbox.
- Guppy Gulch is recommended for guests 8 years and older.
- We highly recommend that parents of 10 and under supervise their children IN the water.
- You must provide/arrange your own transportation.
- All swimmers will receive a pair of AquaSocks to wear in the park and to take home at the end of the day. The cost of these is included in your ticket price. Other types of shoes and/or water socks will no longer be allowed on the inflatables or docks.
(NEW) Save-A-Life
Save-A-Life Swim Program- THURSDAY, JULY 3rd
The American Cancer Society Save-a-Life Swim Program is returning this year during our regular practices on Thursday, July 3rd. This is a fun practice as we ask the kids to swim as many laps as they can to raise money for the American Cancer Society. They can use flippers and kickboards too!
Only swimmers who raise money for the Save-a-life Swim Program should attend practice. Swimmers can request donors to pledge per lap or make a flat donation. Ask your parents, older siblings, grandparents, neighbors and friends to donate. We encourage parents to attend practice to help count your swimmer’s laps if anyone chooses to pledge per lap. The pledge form is attached. You can download and print. There will be a few in a labeled folder in a top drawer of the filing cabinet by tomorrow morning.

Come during your normal practice time. There will be breakfast snacks when the swimmers are finished with their laps. There will be drawings for prizes as well.
We will also have an honor and memory board for the swimmers to write a special message if they have a loved one that has battled or is currently battling cancer.
