Happy Father's Day to all you swim dads!
We kick off the dual meets this Tuesday night with our first home meet and then our first away meet on Thursday night. This email has a ton of information so bear with me tonight and please feel free to email any questions.
We have been informed by the board of the Lancaster Summer Swim League that the first dual meet of Woodridge vs Skyline will be recorded as a forfeit by Woodridge due to the league rule being broken.
So, what does this mean? We will still hold the meet, and everything will function like it normally does for a dual meet. However, we will not announce a score or a winner at the end of the evening. Please do not tell your swimmers about this decision. Coach Barb will be speaking to the first two practices about this tomorrow. We have decided that the younger swimmers will not understand, and we want everyone to swim their best on Tuesday night. Times will still count for league qualifying and records can still be broken. If you have any questions about this, you can speak to Coach Barb or Linda Piper.
Volunteer Needs for Tuesday Night:
- concession stand help - 1 from 7-8 and 3-4 from 8-9
- stroke and turn - 1 for second half
Concession Needs: (urgent needs in bold)
- 5-6 bags of ice
- 2 2lb. ground beef in crockpot for walking tacos
- 2 cases of assorted chips
- 12 candy sticks
- 1 dozen donuts
- 3 mac and cheese in crockpot
- 1 pasta salad
- 1 pulled pork in crockpot
Important Details:
- The pool closes and set-up begins at 4 PM. Swimmers should arrive by 5 PM since warm-ups will begin no later than 5:10. The meet begins at 6 PM. A timers meeting that includes finish and stroke and turn judges occurs around 5:40. Please listen for the announcement.
- When your swimmers arrive at the pool, please make sure they go to the picnic table near the staging area to highlight their names for check-in. Skyline sets up across the pool on the side with the tennis courts.
- There is no charge for this meet.
- If you signed up to bring concession items, please bring them directly to our concessions table when you arrive.
- Volunteers – just like your swimmer, we need you to sign in at the sign-in table (same place as the swimmers) It will be on a blue clipboard. The exception is concession stand volunteers and after-meet treat. You should sign-in at the concession stand when you arrive at the meet.
- Swimmer meet entry is now closed for both meets this week. Changes can still be made but you will need to contact Coach Barb by emailing her at [email protected]
Woodridge Invitational
Congratulations to everyone who braved the chilly weather yesterday and participated in the Woodridge Classic. The results are attached to this email.
Lititz Springs Invitational
More details will be coming later this week to those participating but there is a need right now for 1 more timer for the second half.
Away Meet - Adamstown - Thursday Night
We have some urgent volunteer spots that need to be filled for Thursday night's meet.
- finish judge - 1 for both halves
- first half timer - 1
- scoring - 1 for each half
- second half timers - 3
- staging - 1 second half
- stroke and turn - 1 for first half, 2 for second half
Guppy Gulch - Friday, July 8
Registration for Guppy Gulch is now open. An information sheet is attached to this email. Registration/payment looks different this year and can be a little complicated so please follow the steps on the attachment and also listed below if you are planning to attend. WE ARE LIMITED TO 135 PARTICIPANTS THIS YEAR. The cost is $25 for participants or $10 for observers if paying by check or $26/$11 if paying via Venmo (see directions below).

How do I sign up?
- You must complete the online waivers for each participant before registering on Swimtopia. (see above)
- In Swimtopia, go to Meets and Events and scroll to Guppy Gulch and click the RSVP button. YOU ONLY NEED TO CLICK THIS IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ATTEND.
- RSVP for only those listed in your family who are attending.
- If you are bringing additional guests, please choose how many and list their names in the Comment Section.
- In the comments section – please list your total amount and payment method.
- EXAMPLE: 3 participants - $75 check/all 3 waivers completed or 2 participants/1 observer -$60 via Venmo/all 3 waivers completed
- You can find the Venmo account for our team under Businesses - @skylinesharks. If you choose this payment method, please write Guppy Gulch and Swimmer’s Name and remember the cost is $1 more per person attending.
- If writing a check, please make it out to Skyline Swim Team and place it in an envelope labeled Guppy Gulch in the Piper mailbox.

Skyline Cup Raffle Baskets
The 15th Annual Skyline Cup will take place on Thursday, July 7. For those who are new -The Skyline Charity Cup is a fun evening that has 44 events that are all 25s and helps to support local charities. For raffle baskets this year, we are using Sign-Up Genius for you to choose items to donate. There will be a basket on the first round table when you walk into the pool starting tomorrow for you to begin to put donations in for the raffle baskets.
