Good evening Skyline families, 

It is with a very heavy heart that the Skyline parent volunteer board is emailing you tonight to let you know that we will not be able to have any sort of a season due to several factors. The first being that the Lancaster Summer Swim League has already canceled the 2020 season. The second being that without the league having a season, we will not have any liability insurance coverage through Parks and Rec. And third, when we do go into the yellow or green and the pools are cleared to open, there will be State guidelines put into place. Following the guidelines, while trying to hold a practice or an intrasquad meet becomes extremely hard to do. 

While we know that this is upsetting for a lot of parents and swimmers, and very disappointing for our seniors, we pride ourselves as a team to make sure that all of our swimmers and coaches and parent volunteers stay healthy and safe this summer.

The board is planning to still be able to honor our eleven seniors on the team this year and we are looking to see if anybody is willing to help out or have some suggestions. The board felt that since these seniors have been a part of Skyline for so many years, as well as their families (we have several that are also graduating families) and didn't get their final season with the team, that it's important we honor them. We typically not only honor our seniors, but we also honor any of the graduating families at our banquet. Since we will not have the normal format of the banquet this year, we would like to take the time to honor those seniors and the families who won't have the traditional last season. The Skyline Board appreciates the Skyline families and your support this year. And for being patient with us as we navigate our new normal. 

On a personal note I just want to say thank you. Thank you to Coach Barb, Coach Jen and all of the other coaches, not only for this season but, for all of the seasons that my family has been a part of this team. Thank you to our amazing Parent Board. Our team and coaches would not be able to do what they do without you. Skyline will always hold a special place in the hearts of my family.
